The Brief

DDC International needed an East Africa production partner to capture impact stories from a USAID-funded initiative across two remote regions of Tanzania. The production challenge was clear: deploy a crew across Iringa and Mbeya, gain access to rural communities, and come back with character-driven documentary footage that could communicate complex policy outcomes to an international development audience.

That means knowing how to operate in the field without a fixer network in place, how to build trust with communities quickly, and how to turn a technical government programme into a story a donor in Washington or London can feel.

What We Delivered

01 // Multi-Region Field Production

We deployed across Iringa and Mbeya: location scouting, local crew coordination, equipment logistics, and access into rural communities across two geographically separate shoots. Both regions required ground-level organisation that only a crew with real East Africa field experience can manage without surprises.

02 // Documentary Cinematography for Development Audiences

We shot both stories with the visual clarity and human warmth that NGO and development clients need to move funders and stakeholders. That means broadcast-quality footage, thoughtful framing, and an approach to subjects that produces genuine moments rather than posed ones.

03 // Translating Complex Programmes Into Human Stories

Land mapping technology and community health insurance are not inherently cinematic subjects. We structured both segments around real people and observable moments: the survey process in action, a family at a clinic. The technology becomes visible through its effect on lives, not through explanation.
